For 8U Mites: All interested Mite teams will play in Jamborees at locations across the state. The organization hosting the Jamboree can determine which Mite team from their organization will play at their location. Every effort is made to place teams in jamborees considering travel distances and competitive level of participating Mite teams. Placements will be very good, but not perfect.
For 10U Squirts: CT Hockey Ratings at CTHockeyRatings.com will be used to place the teams.
- There are no 10U Tier 1 CHC Tournaments.
- Teams ranked 1 thru 8 will be placed in the 10U Tier 2 CHC tournament. The 10U Tier 2 Champion will go to the 10U Tier 2 Regional Tournament.
- Teams ranked 9 thru 20 (12 Teams) will be placed in the Tier 3 CHC tournament. The 10U Tier 3 Champion will go to the 10U Tier 3 Regional Tournament.
- Teams ranked 21 thru 32 (12 Teams) will be placed in the Tier 4 CHC State Championship Tournament.
- All remaining teams will be placed in tournaments at host locations. The hosting organization will select a team from their organization to participate in that tournament and CHC will place the remaining teams based on competitiveness and geography as much as possible.

For 12U PeeWees: CT Hockey Ratings at CTHockeyRatings.com will be used to place the teams.

For 14U Bantams Tier 1 & 2: Tier 1 and Tier 2 teams will be declared by the team’s organization in the June/July timeframe prior to the season.
- The declared Teams will play against each other during the year for placement in the State Championship Tournament.
- In the 2022-2023 season, 4 organizations declared Tier 1 teams and 10 organizations declared Tier 2 teams. Each team is required to play every other team in their division one time. Therefore, Tier 1 teams will have 3 required games and Tier 2 teams will have 9 required games. Those results will determine rankings.
- For Tier 1, all four teams will advance to the CHC Tournament if they fulfill their game requirements. The 14U Tier 1 Champion will go to the 14U Tier 1 Regional Tournament. Some years CT gets more than one team placement.
- For Tier 2, eight teams will advance to the CHC Tournament if they fulfill their game requirements. The 14U Tier 2 Champion will go to the 14U Tier 2 National Tournament. There is no 14U Regional Tournament.

For the remaining 14U teams: they will be ranked by CTHockeyRatings.com.
- Teams ranked 1 thru 12 will be placed in the 14U Tier 3 CHC tournament. The 14U Tier 3 Champion will go to the 14U Tier 3 Regional Tournament.
- Teams ranked 13 thru 24 (12 Teams) will be placed in the 14U Tier 4 CHC State Championship Tournament.
- All remaining teams will be placed in tournaments at host locations. The hosting organization will select a team from their organization to participate in that tournament and CHC will place the remaining teams based on competitiveness and geography as much as possible.
